FAQs:

Q: Why Do I need to book a call?

BWRT is not suitable for everyone, and during the call we will be able to establish if it is the right therapy for you. Before starting any therapy, it is important that you chat with the therapist to see if you are both happy to work with each other.

Q: Why is it only 20 minutes?

It is a short informal call to find out briefly about your issue, and to discuss more about the treatment plans we can offer.

Q: What happens after the call?

If you decide after your phone call that you would like to start the programme, you will be booked in for an Initial consultation. This takes 1.5 hours approx, and you will be asked for more details about your anxiety and past trauma events. From this session, a detailed work plan will be compilled specifically for you.

Q: How much does the therapy cost?

Currently, the Initial consultation costs £120 and lasts 1.5 hours approx, with subsequent sessions at £80 for 50-60 mins approx. There are some other work programmes available for people looking for more intense treatement which will be discussed on the 20 minute call if appropriate.

Q: How many sessions will I need?

Most clients will start to see a result within 4-6 sessions, and by that time Tanya will be able to advice how many further sessions could be required.  If there has been a lot of trauma in the past, then often more than 10 sessions will be required. For simple phobias, these can be treated in 1-2 sessions. BWRT if a very fast and effective therapy, and clients who have been in therapy for years are acheiving results within weeks.  Generally - you will need less sessions of BWRT compared with most other therapies. Ultimately - you will be saving time and money to get the results you need.

Q: I have had significant trauma, will I need to talk about what happened in detail?

No, this is the great thing about BWRT. You only give as much detail as you feel happy to provide. We are still able to help resolve trauma even if you have no clear memory of the event, and you will only feel discomfort for a few minutes in most cases. Issues like grief we can help within a single session for you to find relief. 

Q: Will I go in a trance? Is it like hypnotherapy?

No, you will not be in a trance - we are not working with the subconcious, but with the older part of the brain. You will be fully awake during the process, and completely aware of what is happening. Many clients find BWRT deeply relaxing, and as the brain gets more and more used to the procedure, they find sessions easier. Often people say they are immediately feeling lighter, and memories which have trouble them for years have completely disappeared.

Q: Can you do sessions online?

BWRT can effectively be done online, over the phone, or face to face. I am currently using the platform Cliniko for online sessions, which require no software to be downloaded. You will be sent a video link for the Initial consultation, and just click on it before the session starts. All meeting rooms are secured for privacy. 

Q: Can children have BWRT?

Yes, although I am currently not taking on clients under 18 years old. You will be able to find a BWRT practitioner who works with children on the main website at www.bwrt.org

Q: Where are you based?

I am based in Salisbury, Wiltshire - the South of England. If you would like face to face sessions, I have a therapy room in the centre of town. Most of my clients are online, and I am happy to work with people in and out of the UK.

Q: When can I have sessions?

At the moment, I am offerring sessions Monday - Thursday, during school hours and some evenings. 

Q: What training have you had?

I have been fully training in Level 1. Level 2 and Level 3 BWRT (the highest level) directly by the founder Terence Watts. I am fully insured. Q: Do I have to be a working parent to have therapy with you?

No, I am happy to take on anyone who is suitable for therapy. As a working mother of five, I understand the additional stresses working parents have and so have chosen to specifically seek clients in this category.
